HERMITAGE, Pa. -- The wedding of Carley A. Gwin and Michael J. Hopwood, both of 2650 University Blvd., Shaker Heights, took place at 2 p.m. Sept. 8 at Notre Dame Church.
The Rev. John Hagerty presided at the ceremony.
After accepting congratulations during a reception at Buhl Farm Park Casino, the couple left on a wedding trip to Myrtle Beach, S.C.
They live in Shaker Heights.
The bride is a daughter of Harold and Dorothy Gwin, 1024 Bon Air Drive, Sharon, Pa., and parents of the groom are Michael and Kay Hopwood, 1015 W. First St., Oil City, Pa.
The bride's ivory ballgown featured a strapless bodice, basque waistline and a chapel train.
Navy blue gowns were worn by Lara Herrmann, the honor attendant, and the bridesmaids, Erin Volk, a cousin of the bride; Elizabeth and Angie Hopwood, sisters of the groom; Amy Williams; and Tammie McElhinny.
The duties of best man were performed by Michael McIntyre, and serving as groomsmen were Ross Gwin, the bride's brother; Joseph Hopwood, a brother of the groom; Mark Kearney; Benton Koerner; and Ian Moon.
The bride graduated from The Behrend College at Pennsylvania State University at Erie with a bachelor's degree in biology. She is a manager with Gene Expression Core at Cleveland Clinic Foundation.
The groom, a senior credit analyst with MBNA Marketing Systems in Cleveland, earned a bachelor's degree in communications at The Behrend College at PSU.
