ANNIVERSARY King Solomon Lodge to mark 79th year
WARREN -- King Solomon Lodge 87, Prince Hall, Free and Accepted Masons of Ohio, will hold its 79th annual anniversary banquet at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Avalon Inn.
The speaker for the event will be Sidney D. Broadnax Jr., newly elected most worshipful grand master of the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Ohio.
Broadnax, a resident of Cincinnati, is the 55th elected grand master of the Ohio Prince Hall Grand Lodge. He has served in the grand lodge as deputy grand lecturer of the first district, convention director, public relations director, assistant housing administrator and assistant controller.
He also has served in the following leadership positions in other Masonic organizations: worshipful master of St. John's Lodge 3; illustrious potentate of Sinai Temple 59, Prince Hall Shriners; commander-in-chief of King Solomon Consistory 20; high priest of Prince White Chapter 1 Royal Arch Masons; thrice illustrious master of William C. Farley Council 23 R. & amp; S.M.; and honorary past grand high priest. He also was elevated to the 33rd degree in Masonry.
Lodge 87 is under the leadership of Frederick Douglas Jr., worshipful master, and banquet chairman is Larry J. Rodgers, junior warden. Tickets for the event are $30 and are available through any lodge member or by contacting James Provitt, (330) 399-3529, or Eric Brown, (330) 392-6686.
