Knights of Pythias to receive awards

NORTH JACKSON -- An annual awards ceremony will take place during a banquet to be held by the Knights of Pythias Lodge 343 at 6 p.m. Oct. 18 at the lodge.
A highlight of the evening will be the presentation of a past chancellor commander's pin to Bill Gothard, who will also receive a state award from Bob Hagan.
Mike Merkel will be honored as the Knight of the Year, and Dan McGowan will receive a state award from Don Baker.
Among the awards to be granted the lodge will be a Grand Lodge of Ohio commendation from Bill Faihor.
