25th anniversary
YOUNGSTOWN -- Heavenly Place Church of God in Christ will celebrate the 25th anniversary of its leader, Pastor Stafford Jackson, with a banquet at 6 p.m. Oct. 27 at St. Mark's Center in Liberty. Fund-raising program
CANFIELD -- "An Evening In Russia" will be at 6 p.m. Nov. 3 at Western Reserve United Methodist Church. There will be authentic Russian food, music, dancing, singing and a silent auction of unique Russian items to benefit the volunteer-in-mission trip "To Russia With Love" Nov. 30 to Dec. 13 sponsored by Protestant Campus Ministry at Youngstown State University. NORTH JACKSON -- The National Shrine of Our Lady of Lebanon will have special prayers at 3 p.m. daily for the United States and the world during the current conflict.
Mortgage banquet
YOUNGSTOWN -- Victory Lutheran Church will be host of a banquet at 6 p.m. Nov. 3 to help pay the church's mortgage. Installation rite
NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. -- The Rev. Steven Mark Allen will be installed as the Westminster College chaplain at the 7 p.m. Sunday Vespers service in Wallace Memorial Chapel. A reception will follow. The Rev. Mr. Allen came to Westminster College from The Lovett School in Atlanta, Ga., where he worked since 1997.

YOUNGSTOWN -- "In Times Like These, We Need Revival," is the theme of fall revival services at 7 p.m. Oct. 22 to 26 at Triedstone Missionary Baptist Church.

ASHTABULA -- Wellness and Total Learning Center will present a program on Islam at 7:15 p.m. Sunday. Dr. Jim Royster, professor of Eastern religions at Cleveland State University, will speak.

Youth concert set
NORTH LIMA -- South Range area churches and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes will present "Youth Fest 2001" featuring Tammy Trent at 7 p.m. Nov. 10 in South Range High School. Baritone performs
NEW MIDDLETOWN -- Burt Kettinger, a baritone soloist from Wheaton, Ill., will perform at 10:45 a.m. Oct. 21 at Free Methodist Community Church. From 1974-87, Kettinger was the soloist on "Moody Presents," the international broadcast of The Moody Bible Institute in Chicago. His program, "A New Song," is aired through the Moody Broadcast Network.
Ecumenical choir
CANFIELD -- The Austintown Ecumenical Choir will present a musical program at 7 p.m. Oct. 20 at Western Reserve United Methodist Church.
Concert and workshop
SHARON, Pa. -- St. Joseph Church and Tellers Organ Co. will present a recital by organist and composer David H. Pettit at 3 p.m. Nov. 11. He is a product specialist for Rodgers Instruments and principal organist at College Hill Presbyterian Church in Cincinnati. He will also give a workshop for less-experienced organists from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Nov. 12 at the church. There's a $5 registration fee. Call (412) 981-8382.
Choir rehearsals
YOUNGSTOWN -- Vocalists from age 10 to 21 are sought for the "Youth of Hope" choir for the HOPE 2001 Crusade Oct. 21 to 24 at Stambaugh Auditorium. The choir will sing at the Youth Gospel Explosion 7 p.m. Oct. 21. Rehearsals will be at 8 p.m. Monday and 6 p.m. Friday on the third floor of Youngstown State University's Bliss Hall.

Musical comedy
GIRARD -- Girard First United Methodist Church's theater ministry will present the Christian musical-comedy, "What A Day for a Daydream," that examines choices of life and faith. A teen-age girl feels like a misfit and retreats into a '60s and '70s make-believe world of perfect television families and disco-dancing schoolmates. She soon discovers the problems of an imaginary life and must figure out what will help her understand herself and the world.
Performances are 8 p.m. Friday and Oct. 20, and 2 p.m. Oct. 21. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under. Make reservations by calling (330) 545-4361. Tickets will also be available at the door. Proceeds go to the organ restoration fund.

Harvest celebration
YOUNGSTOWN -- St. John's Episcopal Church will have a harvest celebration at 10:30 a.m. Oct. 21. People are asked to bring seasonal items, such as gourds or bouquets, and food items for Protestant Family Service. A collection will be taken for the national Episcopal church's missions.
Youth costume party
SALEM -- First Friends Church's AWANA Club will have a Fall Fun Fling from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Oct. 31 for children up to age 13. Christmas charity
WARREN -- Catholic Charities Regional Agency will have its annual sign-ups for Christmas gifts for children in Trumbull County from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Oct. 24, 26 and 30 and Nov. 1, and from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. and 5 to 7 p.m. Oct. 22 only for working families. To qualify, applicants must have photo identification, proof of income, receipts of paid bills, medical cards or birth certificates for all children in the home and information including Social Security cards for all other people in the home.

The church is also offering classes on topics that include rediscovering the Sabbath, The Chronicles of Narnia, the history of Christianity, floral design and computers.
