Man charged with pointing gun at woman in Austintown

AUSTINTOWN -- A 35-year-old Salem man was arrested Thursday night after a woman told police he pointed a gun at her head twice at a Briarwood Lane home.
The man, of Salem-Warren Road, was charged with domestic violence. The woman is the mother of the Salem man's daughter.
What she reported: The woman told police that the man was drunk and he showed her loaded gun clips when he came to pick up their daughter for visitation late Thursday at the Briarwood Lane home. The man said his father had taken his gun.
The woman said she tried to keep her daughter home, but the man took the girl.
He returned to the home with the girl 30 minutes later. He also had a gun in the front of his pants, the woman said. She said she began to argue with the man about the gun and his drinking.
The woman said the man then pointed the gun at her head twice. He also pointed it into the air and at her mother, she said.
Arrested later: The man then left. He was arrested later in Salem by Mahoning County deputy sheriffs and was ordered to appear in court Monday afternoon.
