AUSTINTOWN Police arrest 2 drivers stopped on other causes

Police said a woman's boyfriend identified her and that a dog found drugs in a man's car.
AUSTINTOWN -- Police said they found drugs after stopping two cars Thursday. The drivers were arrested.
One was a 30-year-old Burkey Road woman who also had been secretly indicted in Mahoning County on three counts of illegal processing of a drug document and three counts of deception to obtain a dangerous drug.
She also was wanted on a warrant for failure to appear in Mahoning County Court in Austintown.
The woman was arrested after a 29-year-old man of the same Burkey Road address identified her car Thursday afternoon driving on Idaho Road. The man, who said the woman was his girlfriend, was in a police car after having been arrested earlier on a warrant for failing to appear in court.
The officer driving the cruiser stopped the woman's car; she was arrested on the warrant. The man and woman were taken to the police station and booked.
Searched purse: Police said they searched the woman's purse and found 10 prescription drug bottles in her name. The bottles were for several different drugs, including Oxycontin, Vioxx and Valium. Two of the bottles were for Adderall.
Police said the woman's purse also contained two paper prescriptions in her name from "Comprehensive Psychiatry Specialists."
Man's arrest: Police also arrested a 31-year-old South Raccoon Road man Thursday night after finding drugs in a secret compartment of his car. The man was stopped at South Raccoon Road and Mahoning Avenue on a suspicion of driving while intoxicated.
A police dog indicated there were drugs in the car. Police said they unscrewed the front of a secret compartment near the steering wheel and found a pipe, rolling papers, two white pills, several crushed green pills, and a plastic bag with suspected marijuana residue.
Police charged the man with two counts of possession of a dangerous drug and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia, as well as DUI, driving under suspension and speeding. He is expected to appear in court Monday evening.
