YOUNGSTOWN 3 daylight robberies reported

A Northside victim said she knew the robbery suspect.
YOUNGSTOWN -- City police are investigating three Monday afternoon armed robberies, one on the North Side and two on the West Side.
In the first, a woman driving a car was flagged down on Florida Avenue between Erie Street and Rush Boulevard on the South Side by a man who said he wanted back the clothes he had left in her vehicle a few weeks ago. The 24-year-old Tod Lane woman, who knew him only on a first-name basis, said he'd have to follow her in the car he was driving to pick them up from her brother's Liberty Township residence.
The man argued with her and pointed a revolver at her head, robbing her of a $100 gold rope necklace, the victim told police.
After following her to Woodbine Avenue near Wick Avenue, the robber jumped in the back seat of her car, again putting the gun to her head, and robbing her of $5. Her 22-year-old female passenger, who resides on Glenwood Avenue, was robbed of $57 in cash at 2:30 p.m.
The robber returned to his car, fleeing in an undetermined direction.
On West Side: At 3:20 p.m. on the West Side, a man and woman robbery team took a wallet containing credit cards and a driver's license from a 71-year-old Hazelwood Avenue man who was walking on Oakwood Avenue.
The male suspect was driving a car when he stopped on Oakwood near Hazelwood to ask for directions, the victim told police. The woman approached, showed a handgun in her waistband, robbed the victim of his wallet, and jumped into the car being driven by the male, police said.
In a 3:57 p.m. carjacking, an 18-year-old Dearborn Street woman and her female passenger told police they were forced out of the southbound car the 18-year-old was driving, while she was stopped on Bruno Street at Vestal Road. The robber, a man wearing a red mask and brandishing a handgun, emerged from a westbound car that stopped in front of her. A female accomplice drove off in the car the robber had arrived in. Both cars went west on Vestal.
Police reports did not indicate whether police believe the same suspects committed both West Side robberies.
