Caiazza Candy recall
NEW CASTLE, Pa. -- Caiazza Candy has recalled a 12-piece assortment box because of a labeling error. Felicia Caiazza, vice president, said the New Castle-based candy manufacturer voluntarily put out the recall after U.S. Food and Drug Administration inspection found that dried egg yolk was not listed on the package as an ingredient for a buttercream candy that is the 12-piece box. The boxes were mainly sold in the spring in the tri-state area, she said. The candy manufacturer isn't sure how many boxes were sold. The 5-ounce box has a clear lid and Caiazza Candy written on it. The candy can be returned to the store where it was purchased for a refund. Boxes of the candy still in the company's warehouse have been relabeled.
