RECOGNITION Atty. Pazol to be honored by Zionist Organization



The honoree has been active in many area organizations.
LIBERTY -- The Youngstown Zionist District of the Zionist Organization of America will honor Atty. James L. Pazol during a community Shabbat service at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 12 at Temple El Emeth, 3970 Loganway.
Atty. Pazol will receive the Justice Louis D. Brandeis Award and the K'far Silver Scholarship Plaque in recognition of his lifetime devotion to Israel, Zionism and community service.

Background: Pazol earned his bachelor's degree in political science and juris doctorate at Ohio State University. Admitted to the Ohio bar in 1962, he also was admitted to practice in Pennsylvania, the U.S. District Court, Northern District of Ohio and the Western District of Pennsylvania.
He is a lifetime member of the ZOA and has been a member of the board of the Youngstown district. He is a member and past president of the Greater Youngstown Area Jewish Federation, having served in numerous capacities. He also served as a trustee of the Schermer Charitable Trusts for over 17 years and is a member and past president of the Government Affairs Committee of the Ohio Jewish Communities Inc.
Pazol serves on the executive committee of the Ohio Regional Board of Anti-Defamation League and is a founder and past chairman of the Youngstown, Warren, East Liverpool ADL; past member of the board of governors of District II ADL; member and past president of the executive board of Mahoning Lodge B'nai B'rith and the Youngstown Adult B'nai B'rith Youth Organization; member of the Board of Bellefaire in Cleveland; and recipient of the B'nai B'rith Guardian of the Menorah.
As president and managing partner of Anzellotti, Sperling, Pazol and Small, he works as a personal injury lawyer. He served as special counsel for the Ohio Attorney General for Youngstown State University and has been honored as an advocate of the American Board of Trial Advocates, having served as president of the Ohio chapter. He is a fellow and past president of the Ohio Academy of Trial Lawyers and past member of the board of governors and committeeman of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America. He also has served in various positions with the Ohio State Bar Association. He was seminar chairman and a member of the board of the Mahoning-Trumbull Counties Academy of Trial Lawyers and chairman of the Medial-Legal Committee of the Mahoning County Bar Foundation.
In addition: He also was a member of the Disciplinary Evaluation Review Committee of the Ohio Supreme Court and counsel for the Youngstown Branch of the American Civil Liberties Union. He served as vice president and treasurer of the City of Hope, Youngstown Executive Council, and is a board member and past president of the Ohio State Alumni Club of Mahoning County and of the Liberty Endowment Fund; a former board member and vice president of the Youngstown Symphony Center; former chairman of the Mayor's Human Relations Council of Youngstown; past president of Associated Neighborhoods; former member of the planning council of United Way; and former board member of the Mahoning County Council on Aging.
Pazol and his wife, Bobby, have been married for 42 years and have three sons and four grandchildren.
