Sitcom proposed
LOS ANGELES (AP) -- The Reese Witherspoon comedy "Legally Blonde" may become a sitcom on ABC. The network has won the bidding for the rights to transform the story of a ditzy blonde at Harvard Law School into a television show, Variety reported recently. The modestly budgeted film earned more than $93 million at the box office, making it one of the summer's highest-grossing movies. Marc Platt, who produced the MGM film, plans to executive-produce a pilot episode for the planned ABC show. It's unknown who would star in the sitcom, but the original stars of movies that become television shows rarely appear in the small-screen versions.
