BANQUET Task force to present Peace Awards



Individuals and groups will be honored at the event to be held Oct. 22.
YOUNGSTOWN -- The Mayor's Task Force for Crime and Violence Prevention will honor individuals and groups for their service to the community during the annual Peace Award Recognition Banquet Oct. 22.
The event will get under way at 6 p.m. at the Youngstown Club, 201 E. Commerce St. The task force will recognize individuals and groups in the categories of volunteer, professional and youth.
Details: Dr. Henia D. Johnson of Syracuse, N.Y., will speak. She is the founder of V.O.I.C.E.S., a support and advocacy group for surviving families of homicide victims.
The Rev. Alfred D. Coward is banquet chairman and Madonna J. Chism-Pinkard, co-chairman.
Proceeds from the event will benefit Help Hotline Crisis Center of Youngstown.
