PROGRAM SLATE Mercer County The Mercer County Historical Society has a series of events lined up for the next several days:
The Chamber Players will present a fall concert at 7 p.m. Sunday in the Helen Black Miller Memorial Chapel at 119 S. Pitt St. The concert will feature the music of Handel, Haydn, Gibbons, Cambini, Grieg and Mancini. Admission is free and the program will be followed by a reception in the chapel's social hall.The society's Underground Railroad and Abolitionist Era Discussion Group will have its first meeting of the season at 6 p.m. Monday at Southwest Gardens, 500 Darr Ave., Farrell. There will be a potluck dinner followed by the meeting. William Philson, society director, will give a presentation on the "Will of John Parks," a slaveholder from Virginia.A Civil War Roundtable is set for 7 p.m. Tuesday at the society's headquarters at 119 S. Pitt St. Tim Bennett will present a program on the Civil War.
