HERMITAGE 5 Sharon women charged in burglary



Neighbors called police after seeing women going in and out of the house.
HERMITAGE, Pa. -- Police have filed burglary and other charges against five Sharon women accused of taking items from a house in the 1900 block of Hofius Lane.
The thefts occurred Sept. 24 and 25, police said.
The women told police they had been told the house was empty and that people could take whatever they wanted from the property. Police said the women took toys, appliances a nd various household items, some of which have been recovered.
The owner of the house was away, but neighbors reported seeing the women going in and out of the house and called police, who caught some of the women at the scene.
Hearings pending: None were arrested at the time, but four have since been arrested, arraigned and freed on their own recognizance pending preliminary hearings at a later date.
They are: Brenda Markle, 29, of North Street, charged with burglary, criminal trespass, criminal attempt and criminal conspiracy; Paula Fedele, 46, of North Street, charged with burglary, two counts of criminal trespass, criminal conspiracy, theft, receiving stolen property and criminal attempt; Deborah A. Newton, 46, of Liberty St., charged with burglary, criminal trespass, criminal conspiracy, theft and receiving stolen property; and Denise Root, 19, of Walnut Street, charged with burglary, theft, criminal conspiracy, criminal trespass and receiving stolen property.
A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Rachel Fedele, 21, of North Street on two counts each of burglary, criminal trespass, criminal conspiracy, theft and receiving stolen property.
Police said Newton and Root are mother and daughter as are Paula and Rachel Fedele.
