Firefighters parade
WARREN -- Warren Professional Firefighters Local 204 will be host for a "fire and thunder" parade at noon Saturday.
The procession, featuring motorcycle riders, will form at 11 a.m. and move from Kmart on Parkman Road to Packard Music Hall on Mahoning Avenue N.W., where there will be a brief memorial service.
There will be food vendors, prizes and live entertainment on the music hall grounds.
Cyclists will be asked to make a donation to participate. Proceeds will go to the families of firefighters lost as a result of the Sept. 11 attack in New York City.
The central fire station on South Street also will have open house Saturday.
Taking donations
YOUNGSTOWN -- The Mahoning County Fire Chiefs Association has set aside two days this month to accept donations earmarked specifically for the families of fallen firefighters in New York.
Monetary donations will be accepted from 6 to 10 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday at fire stations throughout Mahoning County.
