'A Translucent History'to open in Lawrence Co.
NEW CASTLE, Pa. -- The Lawrence County Historical Society will have an exhibit opening at 1 p.m. Saturday. "A Translucent History" will feature businesses from Lawrence County's industrial past. There will be photographs, advertising material, glass products made locally, maps and glass making equipment. Refreshments will be served and guided tours of the Joseph A. Clavelli History Center will be conducted throughout the day. The building is on South Jefferson Street. The event is free. For details, call (724) 658-4022.
Candlelight vigil
BOARDMAN -- The public is invited to attend the Mahoning County Chapter of Mothers Against Drunk Driving's candlelight vigil at 1 p.m. Oct. 14 in the Elton Beard Family Pavilion in Boardman Park. The purpose is to remember loved ones killed or injured by drunken drivers and to offer support to the surviving victims, their families and friends.
