City Manager LaVon Saternow presented city council with a proposed 2002 budget of just over $2 million this week. Major income and expenditures with this year's figures in parentheses are:
REVENUES
Real estate taxes: $707,400 ($698,500).Wage taxes: $695,000 ($670,000).Intergovernmental grants and payments: $46,851 ($56,286).Miscellaneous contributions and donations: $196,000 ($201,029).Interfund transfers (sewer, garbage, etc.): $78,500 ($95,472).
EXPENDITURES
Police: $791,850 ($761,425).Fire: $236,996 ($233,996).Public works: $259,839 ($241,154).Administration: $120,060 ($120,060).Tax collection: $95,602 ($90,602).Debt service: $139,836 ($131,601).
