Gun threat reported
COLUMBIANA -- A 15-year-old Columbiana High School student is being treated at an undisclosed facility after threatening to bring a gun to the school Monday and discharge it.
"Some people heard of the boy's plans and called us," Police Chief John Krawchyk said. "This was worth taking seriously. It was no joke. He admitted it."
Krawchyk said the boy did not make specific threats toward any individuals. He said at no time was any student, faculty member or member of the public at risk. No weapons were brought to the school or onto school property, he said.
Krawchyk said the department would not file charges through juvenile court until after a review of the treatment facility's report.
