NCI selects volunteer
CHAMPION -- Jim Marrangoni, of 6552 Oak Hill Drive, is one of 150 nationwide selected by the National Cancer Institute as a volunteer member of Consumer Advocate in Research and Related Activities (CARRA). As such, he will be a direct link between the American Cancer Society and NCI, the Federal Government's cancer organization, in designing and implementing cancer programs. Diagnosed with colorectal cancer in April 1998, Marrangoni received the 2000 Courage Award for the Trumbull Unit of the American Cancer Society. He works at EDS in Warren, is logistics chairman for the Warren Relay for Life, serves on the Ohio Division Relay for Life program team, is active in the ACS Navigator program, and a member of the Trumbull Unit Board of Directors.
