BROOKFIELD Trustees

Brookfield Township trustees took these actions Monday night:
Approved changes at the township park baseball field. The school district will pay for higher fencing, the township will pay for resurfacing the parking lot and the Youth League will help financially. After improvements are made, according to Trustee J. Philip Schmidt, "home runs will be harder to come by for the opposing teams."
Agreed to partner with the Geauga-Trumbull County Solid Waste District to dispose of Christmas trees after the holidays. Trustees will apply for a grant to help finance the program. Normally, Christmas trees are placed in lakes to create fish cover, or are ground into mulch.
Accepted 6.1 acres donated by the Strimbu family, which will be used for a new cemetery.
Announced that the Trumbull County Health Department will give flu shots Nov. 9 from 2 to 4 p.m. to senior citizens at the Brookfield Administration Building.
U Announced Trick or Treat rounds for 5 to 7 p.m. Oct. 31.
