AUSTINTOWN Domestic disputes reported

One woman attempted suicide, police said.
AUSTINTOWN -- Ten domestic dispute reports and four domestic violence reports were filed with township police over the weekend.
In one case, a Fountain Square woman was in serious condition this morning at St. Elizabeth Health Center after a suicide attempt.
Police first encountered her at 11:45 a.m. Sunday, after being told of a fight in the area. The woman told police that she had been arguing with her husband and son, 20, of Detroit.
The son told police he had found the woman pinning down her husband on the stairs. The woman had knives in her hands, the son said. The son said that the woman then approached and began fighting with him. Police found minor cuts on the son's chin and above his eye.
At 1 p.m., while a police officer was completing his report on the dispute, the woman ran toward her son and attempted to hit him with a wooden club. The officer took the club from the woman. Police charged her with domestic violence and she was taken to the Mahoning County Justice Center.
At 5 p.m., the husband called police to say the woman hit him several times after he paid her bond to have her released from the jail. At 9 p.m., police and ambulance crews responded to a call in Fountain Square that the woman had tried to commit suicide. They found her conscious but groggy and took her to St. Elizabeth's.
Another report: Police also charged a 40-year-old Callaway Circle woman Sunday with domestic violence after her ex-husband reported that she had punched him.
No arrests were made as a result of the other reports, mostly involving disagreements over custody of children or possible thefts by estranged or ex-spouses.
