PREPS Davidson sparks Irish rout of Wilson, 74-16

YOUNGSTOWN -- Sophomore Courtney Davidson scored 28 points, which included five 3-pointers, and she had 14 assists, as the Ursuline High girls basketball team defeated Wilson 74-16 Thursday in a non-conference game.
The Irish (2-0) built a commanding 46-12 lead by intermission. Mahogani Graves chipped in with 17 points and she grabbed 16 rebounds. Ursuline put nine players in the scoring column.
Wilson (0-3) was paced by Ciara Alexander with five points. Rhonnesa Griffin pulled down eight rebounds.
Niles 81, LaBrae 38: LEAVITTSBURG -- Stacia Ray scored 29 points and Bree Longberry added 23 for the Red Dragons (1-1).
Niles jumped out to a 30-7 lead in the first quarter and increased that margin to 45-22 by intermission. Laura Bate led the Vikings with 13 points and Natali Bate finished with 10.
South Range 58, Crestview 42: NORTH LIMA -- Ahead 31-21 at intermission, South Range (1-0) put the game out of reach with a 17-8 surge in the third quarter.
Crystal Schuler sparked the Raiders with 22 points. Jessie Clayton grabbed seven rebounds. Becky Skowron had seven assists and Jenn Toth had six assists and five steals.
Megan Mellinger led Crestview with 10 points. Katie Kibby yanked down eight rebounds and she had four blocked shots. Erin Mellinger had three assists.
Lowellville 67, Southern 45: LOWELLVILLE -- Danielle Hvisdak poured in 21 points and freshman Amanda Nero added 19 for the Rockets (1-0). Rebecca Basista grabbed 11 of her team's 32 rebounds.
Lacey Dangelo paced the Indians (1-1) with 14 points and Nikki Meister grabbed 10 rebounds.
Western Reserve 44, Lordstown 31: BERLIN CENTER -- Western Reserve (1-1) put three players in double figures. Tiffany Palumbo scored 11 points, while Mikah Berger and Jen White each had 10.
Erin Freudenrich led the Red Devils (0-1) with 18 points and she grabbed six rebounds.
East Palestine 43, Wellsville 33: EAST PALESTINE -- Sam McKay fired in 17 points, while Abbey Gorby and Ashley Martin added 11 apiece for the Bulldogs (1-1). McKay had three assists and three steals and Martin grabbed seven rebounds. Jessica Dinch and Lynsey Lyle, who had nine rebounds, each scored nine points.
