Robbery at gunpoint
YOUNGSTOWN -- Two teen-age boys in dark hooded sweatshirts entered a West Dennick Avenue home around 12:50 a.m. Sunday and robbed the occupants at gunpoint, police said.
The boys, who police say may be as young as 14, carried small handguns. They ordered three women in their 20s to give up their purses and money saying, "We know where it is." The boys stole about $155 in cash and fled, according to reports.
Holiday wreaths
NEW CASTLE, Pa. -- Help others during the holiday by buying a holiday wreath from the American Red Cross of Lawrence County. The wreaths are one-sided, 24-inch, blue-berried juniper and incense cedar on a noble fir background. They are decorated with Ponderosa cones and a red velvet bow.

Survival program

A Market Street business owner would like to replace a sign face with one that does not conform with the zoning regulations, and another property owner is requesting a variance for the replatting of two Middletown Road lots.
Boat safety course
BAZETTA -- Mosquito Lake Power Squadron will be offering a boat safety course in February. Anyone born after Jan. 1, 1982, must have completed the course before operating a boat with a motor larger than 10 horsepower.
Membership in the squadron is open to anyone who has completed the six-class course. Dates of the classes have not been determined.

Assault reports
AUSTINTOWN -- Police are investigating three unrelated reports of assault that have been made since Friday.
A 25-year-old Ferdinand Road woman told police that her boyfriend, a 26-year-old West Chalmers Avenue man, head-butted her after an argument in a car early Sunday.
Another report states that two Staatz Drive residents fought in front of their homes Sunday afternoon after a dispute over a puppy.
Police also received a report on Friday that a 21-year-old Boardman man was assaulted by a bouncer when he was thrown out of The Mill nightclub on South Raccoon Road early Thursday.
Man arrested
AUSTINTOWN -- A New Road man accused of attacking a 21-year-old woman in the bathroom of the Fuel Mart on Seventy-Six Drive has been arrested.
Christopher Smith, 29, of 3968 New Road, is charged with gross sexual imposition and kidnapping. The woman told police Smith dragged her into the bathroom of the Fuel Mart at 6 p.m. Friday, kissed her, and tried to pull down her pants. The woman said she pushed Smith away and ran out the door. She added that Smith ran out of the store.
Police arrested Smith on Friday at the police station after consulting with the prosecutor at the Mahoning County Court in Austintown. Smith had gone from his home to the station with police.
