Goodwill sites to accept goods for Beatitude House

YOUNGSTOWN -- Youngstown Area Goodwill Industries collection centers in Mahoning and Trumbull counties are now also drop-off points for donations of items, such as clothing and furniture, for Beatitude House.
Donations of consumable items, such as toiletries, paper products and food, will continue to be accepted at Beatitude program sites, officials said.
Because of a lack of storage space and ability to organize items, however, nonconsumable goods will be accepted by Goodwill, and Beatitude families will receive vouchers to shop at Goodwill retail outlets in Liberty, Struthers and Warren.
Sites participating: Goodwill collection sites involved in the program with Beatitude House are in Warren, Struthers, Liberty, Austintown and Boardman. Donors may call (330) 759-7921 for hours and directions, said Melissa Pearce, Goodwill marketing director.
Goodwill offers job training and employment services for people with disabilities and other special needs, while also serving the homeless and people with visual disabilities through a variety of programs.
Beatitude House, sponsored by the Ursuline Sisters of Youngstown, provides transitional housing and a career preparation program for homeless and disadvantaged women.
