Free massage offered
AUSTINTOWN -- The Muscle Relief Zone, 4215 Mahoning Ave., is offering a free 30-minute massage from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesdays through Dec. 18 to anyone who will bring a donation of nonperishable items worth at least $15 for the Rescue Mission of Mahoning Valley.
The massage is a $25 value.
Items needed include canned goods, boxed staples such as cereal, rice, sugar, salt and pepper, snack foods, beverages, paper products, baby products, personal need and first aid items, and household supplies such as cleaners, detergents and light bulbs. Call (330) 270-2505 to make an appointment.
Officials investigate fire
HOWLAND -- Township fire and police officials are investigating what they are calling a blaze of suspicious origin, which did an estimated $52,000 damage to a residence at 3139 Valacamp Ave. S.E., around 9:34 p.m. Friday. Officials said the fire was contained to the first and second floors.
No one was home at the time.
Placement tests
WARREN -- John F. Kennedy High School will administer placement tests Saturday for incoming freshmen. Prospective students should be in the cafeteria by 8:30 a.m. The test will be completed by 11:30 a.m. Bring two No. 2 pencils and a calculator with square root function. Both items are available at most variety stores for less than $5.

Meeting rescheduled
HUBBARD -- The regular meeting of the township trustees scheduled for Dec. 10 has been moved up to Dec. 3 at 7 p.m. in the township administration building. A public hearing on a zoning change will be conducted Dec. 10 and scheduled.
Toys for Creativity
BROOKFIELD -- Trunick Gallery is sponsoring its annual Toys for Creativity collection to provide needy children with gifts that encourage exploration and learning.
Those items include markers, paints, sketch books, musical toys and modeling clay.
Supplies can be dropped off at the gallery on the square in Brookfield from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday through Dec. 14.
The items will be distributed through the Salvation Army, and contributors will receive a handmade ornament.
Live Nativity planned
NEW CASTLE, Pa. -- Live actors and animals will be part of a drive-through Nativity scene at King's Chapel United Methodist Church at Old Pulaski Road and Wallace Drive in Neshannock Township from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday and Dec. 2.
