Singer still isn't quite*NSync with riches
Chris Kirkpatrick of *NSync can't believe how his life has changed. "It's absurd to have gone from totally poor to totally rich," he told Us Weekly for its Dec. 3 issue.
"I wake up in my house in the middle of the night and go, 'Whose house is this?'"
Growing up in Clarion, Pa., Kirkpatrick and his four younger half sisters moved frequently.
After his father died, his mother worked as a maid and did odd jobs; his stepfather had trouble finding steady work. At one point, they lived in a trailer that had hole in the side and no heat.
He used layers of dirty laundry as blankets to keep warm at night.
After he graduated from high school, Kirkpatrick moved to Orlando, Fla., to pursue his dream of pop music. That's where he met Justin Timberlake, and the two helped create the five-member boy band *NSync, which earned $42 million last year.
Madonna's involvedin a cover-up
LONDON -- Pop singer Madonna said Thursday that her husband, Guy Ritchie, tells her to cover up if she wears outfits that he considers too skimpy.
The singer, known for her revealing outfits and suggestive lyrics, says she often does as he asks.
"He doesn't like it when I wear see-through shirts. " Madonna, 43, said in an interview on British Broadcasting Corp. radio. "He doesn't want me to dress like an old slapper," a British term for a woman of easy virtue.
Asked if she covered up when asked, she replied, "Mostly. Unless I'm crunched for time."
Sometimes, she said, she insists she should be allowed to dress as she wants, but "I have to pick and choose my battles."
