Sharon scouting report: Defense set the tone for the Tigers in last week's win, holding down a Karns City offense that was averaging 40 points per game. The Gremlins were limited to 26 yards rushing and 134 passing. Sharon got two touchdowns by sophomore RB Jim Bochert and the other by senior QB Mike Schneider -- all on short runs.
Bishop McCort scouting report: The Crimson Crushers won their first district 5-6 championship in school history by scoring 21 second-half points to defeat Bellwood-Antis last week. They had lost to West Branch in 1988 and Tyrone in 1995. Bishop McCort got touchdowns by senior QB Joe Arcurio on a 1-yard run and senior RB Pat Schrey on runs of 3 and 2 yards, respectively. Schrey led all rushers with 95 yards. Senior K Matt Domonkos gives the Crushers a strong kicking game -- he holds the state record with a 58-yarder.

Sharpsville scouting report: Randy Veccia got the Blue Devils rolling last week by returning the opening kickoff 84 yards for a touchdown. Ron Haywood contributed 53 yards rushing and two touchdowns, while Eric Major added 107 yards on the ground. QB Mark Anglin had success through the air, completing passes in key situations.
Bishop Carroll scouting report: The Huskies recorded their third District 5-6 Class A title in four years by beating Windber last week. Chad Schilling's 150 yards and three touchdowns led a ground attack that totaled 350 yards. Schilling, who has run for 1,883 yards and 32 touchdowns, and QB Nate Crookshank, who has gained 822 and 13 scores, benefit from a strong offensive line. Through the air, Crookshank is 32-of-70 for 767 yards, with eight touchdowns and two interceptions. The Bishop Carroll defense forced five turnovers and held Windber's offense to 34 yards rushing and 149 passing.
