Tools are stolen from Sears store

AUSTINTOWN -- Thirteen tool sets worth a total of $3,900 were stolen Monday from the Sears Hardware store on Mahoning Avenue.
A manager for the store told police that the tool sets had been kept in the store's locked patio. Someone entered the patio after cutting a padlock on a sliding door and took the tool sets between 7:30 a.m. and 7:40 p.m. Monday.
Similar thefts have occurred at Sears stores in Canton, Akron and Stow, the manager said.
Also, early this morning police received a report that a Wal-Mart employee found two people breaking into two locked storage trailers at the Wal-Mart store on Mahoning Avenue. The employee said she heard a man say, "Hurry up! Just do it!" as she walked near the trailers at 2:10 a.m. The employee started talked loudly, scaring the two, who then fled.
One individual was driving a pickup truck, and the other was driving a light-colored car.
Police found a cut padlock near the trailers, and the doors on one of the trailers was ajar. Wal-Mart employees are checking to determine if anything was stolen.
