WORK AHEAD
Projects
Road projects have been proposed to improve the flow of traffic around the city of Warren:
A new, four-lane divided highway that would continue the Warren Outerbelt from state Route 5/82 west of Warren to state Route 45 south of the city, with exits for Leavitt Road and state Route 45.
Leavitt Road would also be widened to four lanes from the Outerbelt south to Palmyra Road. Widening work would continue along Palmyra south to Bailey Road.
Another new, four-lane highway to take the Outerbelt from Route 45 south of Warren to state Route 169 near the Eastwood Mall, and several blocks from the end of the proposed North Road Connector.
The North Road connector would take traffic from state Route 82 east of Warren to U.S. Route 422 near the Eastwood Mall.
State Route 45 would be widened to four lanes from State Road near the Outerbelt north to state Route 305.
A new two-lane road would run north from North River Road at state Route 45 to the Outerbelt, then continue north to the intersection of Perkins-Jones Road and Research Parkway. The road would provide access to the Outerbelt from Kent State University Trumbull and a proposed industrial park.
