Surprise card shower being planned to honor the Rev. and Mrs. Roy L. Orr

LILLIAN, Ala. -- A surprise card shower is being planned in honor of the 50th wedding anniversary of former Youngstown residents the Rev. and Mrs. Roy L. Orr.
Friends and relatives of the couple are asked to send them a card around Dec. 15 to 670 Escambia Loop, Lillian, Ala. 36549.
The request is being made by the couple's children and their spouses, Karen and Jim Shaw of Palmyra, Neb.; JoAnn and Roger Richards of Bee, Neb.; and Dan and Peggy Orr of Hastings, Neb. Seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren complete their family.
Mr. Orr and the former Ann G. George were married Dec. 15, 1951, in Youngstown. They left the area in 1953. He served in the U.S. Army and was employed at Honeywell in Pittsburgh and later at Dravo in Twinsburg before being transferred to Hastings, where he also served as pastor of a church.
His wife worked in the cafeteria for the school systems where the couple lived.
The Orrs are retired.
