Camp Fire leadership
YOUNGSTOWN -- Barbara Smith, executive director of Camp Fire USA Northeast Ohio Council, was recently elected secretary of the national Association of Camp Fire USA Councils.
Smith had served as chairwoman of educational workshops.
Camp Fire USA Northeast Ohio Council sent a delegation of six to the national conference in Fort Worth, Texas. The delegation included Smith; Paula Lobaugh, program director; Denise Lobaugh, secretary; Mary Ann Smith, alumni; and Jessica Hice and Tera Lobaugh, Teens in Action members.
Hice and Tera Lobaugh participated in a march against teen violence and, along with several hundred other teen-agers, selected "Global Awareness" as their next two-year issue. The Northeast Ohio Council will receive a $6,000 grant via Camp Fire USA to expand Teens in Action programming as a pilot council.
The association's spring 2003 meeting will be in Cleveland.

Board certification
Dr. Michael Sevilla, son of Dr. Escarlito and Lita Sevilla of Canfield, has received board certification from the American Board of Family Practice.
Board certification is received after a physician completes an accredited residency program and successfully passes a comprehensive examination reflecting his or her professional knowledge and expertise.
Dr. Sevilla is affiliated with the Family Practice Center of Salem Inc. Before joining the practice, he received his medical degree from the Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine, Rootstown, and then completed his family practice residency at Barberton Citizens Hospital.
He is a graduate of Cardinal Mooney High School and Youngstown State University.
During his residency, he was named a 2001 Honored Resident by the Ohio Academy of Family Physicians, which is based on excellence demonstrated in community service, academy service, teaching, leadership and involvement with special projects.
Dr. Sevilla is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, Ohio Academy of Family Physicians, American Medical Association and the Ohio State Medical Association. He lives in Warren with his wife, Christine.
