Illustrator to appearfor book signing
Award winning illustrator and former area resident Chris Sheban will take part in a book signing at the Barnes & amp; Noble book store at the Shops in Boardman Park on Friday from 1 to 3 p.m.
Sheban, a 1976 graduate of Boardman high School, recently received a silver medal from the Society of Illustrators at a ceremony in New York City. The award was for Sheban's illustration of the "Shoe Tree of Chagrin," a children's storybook by Patrick Lewis of Chagrin Falls.
Sheban resides in Chicago with his wife, Lynne, and two children. He earned bachelor's and master's degrees at Kent State University.
Neil Zurcher to visit
Television travel guru Neil Zurcher, whose "One Tank Trips" segments on Fox 8 TV in Cleveland have been broadcast for over 20 years, will attend a book signing Saturday at The Book Nook in Warren Plaza, Elm Road in Warren, from 1 to 2 p.m. He will also appear at Borders Books & amp; Music, 2101 Niles-Cortland Road, Niles, from 3 to 4 p.m. that day.
Both visits are to promote his new book, "Ohio Oddities," in which Zurcher leads a tour of the state in search of such attractions as the "bottomless" Blue Hole of Castalia, the world's largest crystal ball and "Ohio's Most Perfect Tree."
Lisbon author
