Kanas celebrate 50th anniversary at reception

YOUNGSTOWN -- Mr. and Mrs. Steve Kana of 2936 Eddie St. were honored Oct. 28 at a party at the Croatian Home in observance of their golden wedding anniversary.
Arrangements for the celebration were made by the couple's children and son-in-law, Eileen Ellsworth of Youngstown, Thomas Kana of Youngstown, and Jeannie and Joseph Serrecchio of Austintown.
Mr. Kana and the former Betty Lampe were married Oct. 27, 1951, at St. Joseph Church. He served in the U.S. Army Signal Company during the Korean War and retired in 1993. He was employed for 22 years in the ice cream department at Isaly's and then for 221/2 years as a welder at General Motors in Lordstown.
His wife is a homemaker and director of the Youngstown Women's Bowling Association. She also bowls in four leagues, one of which is a mixed league that she participates in with her husband.
The Kanas are members of Holy Name Church. Seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren complete their family.
