The robbery of a shoe store is the focus of Mercer County Crime Solvers this week:
Crime: Robbery.Location: 1138 E. State St., Sharon, Pa.Details: Police said a light-skinned black man took a small amount of money from the cash register at the Payless ShoeSource store shortly after 5 p.m. Monday. The man initially told the clerk he was looking for shoes for his wife but then indicated he had a gun in his pocket and ordered her to open the cash register. He grabbed some money and fled on foot, headed south on White Avenue.Description: The robber is in his early 20s, about 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs about 180 pounds. He wore a jean jacket and baggy khaki cargo pants.Contact: Call Crime Solvers between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday at (724) 347-HELP. Callers do not have to give their names.Reward: Crime Solvers, a nonprofit organization, offers cash rewards of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of anyone responsible for a serious crime in Mercer County.
