Pupils size up food science by doing some testing

Lisa Primerano of the Carnegie Science Center in Pittsburgh shows pupils the size of the world's biggest popped kernel of corn during a visit to Taft Elementary School in Youngstown. Primerano taught the children in Diane Black's second-grade class about food science. Pupils used three brands of popcorn to determine which would pop the most kernels. Gesturing to the popping corn is DeAngelo Young, right, as Damond Brown watches.
