WARREN -- SCOPE Senior Center will have a seminar from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday on the legal, medical, educational and financial needs of grandparents who are the primary caregivers for grandchildren. Child care will be provided during the meeting.

YOUNGSTOWN -- The city's design review board approved Wednesday a 150-foot cell phone tower for an industrial area just outside downtown. Voicestream Wireless Corp., a nationwide company based in Bellevue, Wash., will put the tower at 135 Oak Hill Ave. on the property of NPR Concrete. The board is requiring that the company add landscaping to property along Oak Hill near the new tower. Approval is contingent on the company's getting city zoning board approval for a couple of variances.
Freight train carsderail in Trumbull Co.
NEWTON FALLS -- Several cars of a freight train derailed from a CSX track near the Warren Road grade crossing at 10:15 p.m. Wednesday, a police dispatcher said. The grade crossing was blocked for a while, but there were no injuries and there was no call for the Trumbull County Hazmat Team, the dispatcher said.
