A show of unity at Cardinal Mooney

YOUNGSTOWN -- Students at Cardinal Mooney High School discarded the school's long established dress code last Friday for a day of patriotic unity: Mooney students displayed "American Patriotism Day -- Red, White and Blue."
Students, faculty and staff of the South Side school wore the national colors as a statement of support for the nation's safety and military forces.
The event was sponsored by Mary Virginia Varley, long-time member of the school's science department. Varley said it was her intent to show solidarity with those in the forefront of the nation's struggle with terrorism as part of the national celebration of Veterans Day this year.
