Trustees approve zoning change

NORTH JACKSON -- Jackson Township trustees approved a zoning change to allow construction of a new Williams TravelCenter on North Bailey Road near the intersection of Interstate 76.
The trustees voted 3-0 on Tuesday to change the zoning classification from business to industrial for two parcels at the southeast corner of North Bailey Road and Bailey Court.
Williams Companies, of Williams, Okla., is planning to develop the travel center on the 14-acre piece of land.
The travel center would feature gas pumps and a building housing a convenience store, restaurant, shower facilities, and business-travel related amenities.
It would employ about 15 people, about half of them full-time. An engineer working on the project was not available for comment this morning.
