Area book signings
Gloria Evangelista will be at LS Baskets & amp; Gifts in the Sutton Travel Building, 133 Boardman-Poland Road, from noon until 2 p.m. Saturday to sign copies of her book, "In Search of the Perfect Pumpkin" (Fulcrum Resources, $17.99). The work, written for children ages 4-8, was illustrated by Shawn Shea.
Also on Saturday, Dennis M. Keesee, will sign copies of his book, "Too Young To Die: Boy Soldiers of the Union Army 1861-1865" (Blue Acorn Press, $35), from 4 to 8 p.m. at Barnes & amp; Noble, 381 Boardman-Poland Road. Also featured will be a display of rare photos and other memorabilia from the period.
Writers workshop
Susan Dexter will discuss point of view matters and writing for children of all ages from during "Where Writers Become Authors," the monthly Fiction Writer's workshop, to be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at Jerry Stigliano's Book Source, State Street, Hermitage, Pa. Dinosaur expert to speak at Carnegie museum
Tom Rea will discuss his new book, "Bone Wars: The Excavation and Celebrity of Andrew Carnegie's Dinosaur" (University of Pittsburgh Press), at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Carnegie Lecture Hall of the Carnegie Museum of Natural History, Forbes Avenue and South Craig Street, Pittsburgh.
