Children reach out
Other messages local elementary school pupils are sending on the back of red, white and blue stars to the families of the Sept. 11 victims:
"I feel terribly sorry for Eddie Dillard and all my prayers and my feelings go out to him. If I knew where his grave was, I would bring flowers to him."
Courtney Knox, 5th grade, Southside Middle School in Columbiana, to the family of Eddie Dillard, a passenger on American Airlines Flight 77 that crashed into the Pentagon.
"I am sad about the loss of your loved one. You are in my thoughts and prayers."
Kevin Nieres, 4th grade, Bennett Elementary, Youngstown, to the family of Joseph John Pycior, 39, of New Jersey, an aviation warfare systems operator for the Navy who worked in the Pentagon.
"I want you to know he is in a better, not worse, place."
Brittany Engel, 11, of Columbiana, to the family of Ruben Ornedo, 39, of Los Angeles, a Boeing propulsion engineer who was on American Airlines Flight 77 that crashed into the Pentagon.
"I say this bin Laden should pay for what he did to everybody in the towers and in the jet plane."
Robbie Barbato, 10, of Columbiana, to the family of Kenneth Waldie, 46, of Methuen, Mass., and an engineer for Raytheon Co., who was on American Airline Flight 11 that crashed into the north tower of the World Trade Center.
