VOLLEYBALL 11 are named to all-state



COLUMBUS -- Juniors Katy Jo Mroski of Hubbard and Tealle Hunkus of Girard top the list of district high school volleyball players who made the All-Ohio team announced Wednesday.
Mroski, who helped the Eagles to a regional final appearance, made first team on the Division II team. Senior teammate Amy Falhamer received honorable mention honors.
Hunkus, who led the Indians to a regional semifinal appearance, was a Div. III first team selection.
Senior Tiffany Hack of Mineral Ridge earned second-team honors in Div. III while United senior Tonya Beaumont and LaBrae junior Amanda Gordon were named to the honorable mention list. United also was a regional finalist.
Two Fitch Falcons who are playing in the state semifinals tonight made the Div. I teams. Sophomore Maggie Case, daughter of Fitch coach Tom Case, and senior Ashlee Lemke were named to the third team.
Boardman senior Mara Capraruolo and East Liverpool senior Rachael Shansky, daughter of coach Bob Shansky, were named honorable mention. In Div. IV, Jackson-Milton senior Desra Tomaino was named honorable mention.
The Ohio Volleyball Coaches' Association voted on the state list.
