Campbell man charged with mail fraud

CLEVELAND -- A Campbell man is charged in federal court here with committing mail fraud while working as a foreman for a local paving company.
A U.S. attorney said Christ Minerd, 46, of Park Drive, submitted fraudulent invoices, commonly known as weight tickets, to Mahoning County for asphalt that was never used for a government paving project in 1997 while he was a foreman with Hardrives Paving and Construction Inc. of Mineral Ridge.
The company received payment from the county for the fraudulent invoices, the U.S. attorney said.
The case was investigated by the FBI, IRS and U.S. departments of transportation and labor.
