BOARDMAN -- Mahoning Valley residents will have the opportunity to show their appreciation for local military reservists Saturday during The Valley's Tribute to American Heroes: A Red, White and Blue Parade.
The Marine Corps LSE Company and the Air Force reserve units from Vienna each have entered a color guard in the parade, which is presented by The Vindicator and WFMJ TV 21. Twenty-two reservists from the Air Force also will march in the parade.
The parade will start at 10 a.m. on Market Street at Nisonger Drive and end at the Boardman Township Administration Building.
Marine 1st Sgt. Jeffrey Moses said the reservists would benefit from the cheers of the community members attending the parade.
"The best feeling for anybody in the military is self-worth from the community," he said.
Moses added that the reservists will add to the "sense of spirit" in the community by marching in the parade. While none of the 100 Marine reservists based in Vienna has been called to active duty, Moses said, "They're all pretty good to go."
