Pollution-fix study
HANOVERTON -- Village council will review a proposed agreement with the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency for the abatement of sewage pollution in the village.
Council was to vote on the agreement at its meeting Monday, but the village solicitor, Atty. James Taus, suggested some changes, which will be incorporated in the agreement council is scheduled to vote on next month.
Among other things, Taus suggested that the agreement give the village 12 months instead of six to come up with a plan for abating the pollution, which is caused by malfunctioning septic systems. The most likely plans are to build a sewage treatment plant or tie in to the Columbiana County treatment plant at Guilford Lake.
