Girard police arrest,charge 2 juvenilesin armed robbery
GIRARD -- Police arrested two juveniles over the weekend, charging them with aggravated robbery of a South State Street convenience store.
Police say the two went into Shell Food Mart early Sunday and one pointed a shotgun at two employees, demanding money.
The pair walked out with between $400 and $500, police said. They were arrested later that day.
Some of the money and a shotgun were recovered.
Weathersfield schools
MINERAL RIDGE -- Weathersfield Board of Education has rescheduled its monthly meeting from Nov. 28 to 7 p.m. Nov. 26 in the high school library. The work session will begin at 6 p.m.
Santa, live reindeerplan stop at local mall
NILES -- Santa and his live reindeer will appear in the Eastwood Mall complex Saturday.
The reindeer, from Jingle Bell Ranch in Alliance, will be on display from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Santa will be there from 11 a.m to 7 p.m., and there will be games.
On Nov. 17, Santa will be joined at noon by magician Joe Glenn.
Santa will be at the mall daily Nov. 17-30. Hours are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. on Sundays.
From Dec. 1-24 Santa will be available from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and noon to 6 on Sundays.

Howland studentscompete in speech
HOWLAND -- Howland High School was among 16 teams that competed in a speech and debate tournament Saturday at Edison High School.

Theft from South Side
YOUNGSTOWN -- Police are investigating the theft of antique furniture and lawn-care equipment from the South Side home of an 82-year-old woman who is in a nursing home.
The woman, who once worked in the police department's record room, has a disability and has not been to the East Judson Avenue home in two months, said a woman in charge of the victim's estate. A man who lives down the street was entrusted to keep an eye on the house.
He told police he had not been to the house in at least 10 days when he discovered screen doors he had left unlocked had been locked, police reports show.
He went in about 7:30 p.m Saturday and found many of the woman's belongings gone.
