Eagle award given
Victor Anson Palazzo, a son of Victor Palazzo of Sharon and Kathleen Teague of Hermitage, recently received his Eagle Scout award at a court of honor ceremony. For his Eagle project, he designed and constructed a walking trail for the Shenango Conservancy.
He was a member of Tiger and Cub Scout Pack 5 before becoming a Boy Scout in 1994 and serving as an instructor and patrol leader for Troop 7, which was chartered at Clark Trinity United Methodist Church.
He earned 40 merit badges and the religious award, Ad Altre Dei and is a certified Boy Scout lifeguard.
He is a member of the Langundowi Lodge 46 Order of the Arrow, and Notre Dame Church in Hermitage.
He is a senior at Hickory High School, where he is a member of the marching, pep and jazz bands.
HONORS
Art accepted in show
Kathryn Bernard, daughter of Joseph C. and Carole Bernard of Canfield, has had her artwork "Children of the World," accepted in the 65th Area Artists Show at the Butler Institute of American Art. The show runs Nov. 10-25.
Bernard is a 2000 graduate of Canfield High School and is a sophomore at Youngstown State University, where she is majoring in art education.
Her work also has received best of show at Canfield Fair 2001 and took third place at the Mahoning County Art Show at the Butler.
She also has earned awards for other pieces, "Faces of Despair," and "All God's Creatures." She designed shop signs for the Curiosity Shop in Canfield and Darlene's Down Under Salon in Cornersburg.
