Pastor appreciation
WARREN -- Christ Memorial Baptist Church will have an appreciation day for Pastor David J. Luther and his wife, Cindy, at 10:30 a.m. Sunday. The Luthers, who have been at the church for three years, came to Christ Memorial after serving for 14 years at Faith Baptist Church in Enterprise, W.Va. Before then, the Rev. Mr. Luther was youth pastor at Youngstown Baptist Church. The speaker will be Pastor Glenn Stockton, formerly of Youngstown Baptist Church, who was Mr. Luther's pastor and mentor when he was called to preach.
Boardman service
BOARDMAN -- Westminster Presbyterian Church will honor Boardman-area veterans and safety forces with a Boardman Community Worship Service at 10:30 a.m. Nov. 11. Featured will be the Celtic Flame, a pipe and drum band. Call (330) 758-4513.
Martyrdom talks
BOARDMAN -- Congregation Ohev Tzedek-Shaarei Torah's fall adult education Program "Knocking on Heaven's Door -- Religion and Martyrdom" will be presented from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and Nov. 13 and 20. Call (330) 758-2321 to register.
Healing program
GIRARD -- Unity Church Centre will be host of a three-hour workshop on natural healing at 1 p.m. Sunday. The presenter will be the Rev. Carole Ann Drick, and her workshop will embrace movement, sound, aromatherapy and breathing. Participants should wear loose clothing. She will also speak at the 10:30 a.m. worship service, with a message entitled "Living and Healing in the Presence."
Concert set
NILES -- Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church will have a concert at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 11. Recording artist Craig Conrad and singer Kelly Williams will perform, along with "Everlasting Hope," a seven-women ensemble, "The Sounds of Square County" a women's a cappella group, Denise Miller, Angel Kerns, and "The Heart of Jesus Praise Group." An offering will go to the Red Cross to aid victims and families of the Sept. 11 terrorist attack.
Benefit concert
CANFIELD -- Rescue Mission of Mahoning Valley will have its third annual benefit concert at Old North Church at 6 p.m. Sunday. Featured will be the church choir orchestra. Admission is free. Call (330) 744-5485.
All Saints' Day
WARREN -- Christ Episcopal Church will celebrate All Saints' Day with a combined service at 9:30 a.m. Sunday. The Right Rev. Arthur B. Williams, Suffragan Bishop of the Diocese of Ohio, will celebrate the sacraments of Holy Baptism, Confirmation and Holy Eucharist.
Pastor anniversary
YOUNGSTOWN -- Christian Fellowship Tabernacle recently celebrated the Rev. Philip Imler's 40th year in the ministry. Vision International University awarded him an honorary doctor of divinity degree. The pastor and his wife, Dr. Sylvia Imler, principal of New Hope Academy, came to Youngstown from Atlanta. The House of Praise of Cleveland, with Pastor Joe Terry, the Berean Fellowship of Youngstown with Pastor Jefferson Thomas, and the Miracle Deliverance Center of Youngstown with Pastor Will E. Parker took part in the celebration, as did approximately 60 members of the Move of God Church in Atlanta.
