Inmate to be released
YOUNGSTOWN -- Addie Crawley, sentenced to jail for shooting her ex-husband as he lay in her bed, will be released from the Mahoning County Jail on Sunday. Judge James C. Evans of common pleas court issued an order Friday authorizing Crawley's release at noon Sunday because she has been a model inmate.
Crawley, 51, was sentenced to 45 days in jail in September after she pleaded guilty to aggravated assault for shooting Benjamin Holmes five times last year at her former home on Coronado Avenue.
She claimed he'd shown up after a 20-year absence and threatened her. Holmes said he'd been living with Crawley and that she shot him to cover up her relationship with another man. Crawley will be on probation for three years.
