XPat Chamberlain and Shelby Hill will be hostesses when Austintown II Homemakers meets at the home of Margaret Kollmorgan at 10 a.m. Thursday. Trudy Ponevac will preside, and Mrs. Kollmorgan will lead a workshop in the making of Christmas money holders.

XGirard Junior Women will meet at 6:15 p.m. Thursday at Vernon's Cafe, Route 422, Niles. Members will be contacted for reservations. The group will make theme baskets that will be filled with donations from members and raffle tickets and sold to the public for $5 each as a fund-raiser.
XLe Cercle Francais will sponsor two events in observance of National French Week, Nov. 11-17. A poetry reading by Dr. Renee Linkhorn will be at 4 p.m. Nov. 11 at Barnes and Noble Booksellers at The Shops at Boardman Park. She also will discuss her editing and translating work with Dr. Judy Cochran on "Belgian Women Poets: An Anthology." The film, "Charles and Lucie," a sentimental comedy about a Parisian couple who are swindled, will be screened at 6 p.m. Nov. 13 at Boardman Library. XWomen's Connection will hold a "Fan-Tastic" luncheon at noon Nov. 13 at the Italian-American Veterans Centre in Youngstown. XFred Childress Greater Mahoning Valley Parkinson's Support Group will meet from 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday at Western Reserve United Methodist Church. Hosts will be John and Irene Nock and Gloria Bondor. Refreshments will be served first followed by the speaker, Erica Thomas, wellness coordinator for Shepherd of the Valley, on nutrition. There will be no social lunch in November. The Christmas buffet lunch will be held at 2 p.m. Dec. 13, and sign-ups will be taken at Thursday's meeting. If dues for 2000 have not been paid there will be a charge of $6 per meal.
