Pearl Harbor dolls
PAWTUCKET, R.I. -- President Franklin D. Roosevelt called the Japanese sneak attack on Pearl Harbor "a date which will live in infamy." Now, it will also live on in foot-tall GI Joe action figures.
The figures will be the first GI Joes to be built around a single battle, Pawtucket-based toy maker Hasbro Inc. said.
"What GI Joe has sought to commemorate over time is American heroism," said Derryl DePriest, Hasbro's director of marketing for GI Joe. "So we looked around for those key events in World War II that we could really build a segment around, and Pearl Harbor was a natural."
