CLASS B LEAGUE Pompeo has 2-hitter, 13 strikeouts in win

Nick Pompeo bested Greg Mentrek in a mound duel as Rondinelli's posted a 2-0 win over Alltell.
STRUTHERS -- Winning pitcher Nick Pompeo struck out 13 batters and Greg Mentrek fanned 10 in a losing cause, as Rondinelli's edged Alltell 2-0 in a Class B League game at Cene Park Wednesday.
The two pitchers allowed only five hits combined.
Bill Corbett, Dean Palumbo and Pompeo had the three hits off of Mentrek, while A.J. Carna and Greg Harris were the only successful hitters against Pompeo. Corbett's hit was a double.
Youngstown Express 9, Sluggers 3: Each team only had four hits, but Express benefited from nine Sluggers errors.
Doug Hudoba knocked in four runs for the winners while Marty Kanetsky had a two-run double for Sluggers. Keith Jackson also had a double.
Livi 4, Becdir Construction 1: Winning pitcher Kyle Moore struck out nine over seven innings in a six-hitter and he also had two singles. His catcher, Sean Petrarca, also had two hits, one of which was a double. Jim Mitolo also doubled for Livi which produced nine hits.
For Becdir, Chuck Cormell had a double.
Youngstown Express 10, Becdir 2: STRUTHERS -- Mike Turjanica doubled and had three RBIs as the Youngstown Express used two big innings on Tuesday.
The Express scored four runs in the first inning and a five-run third made it 9-0.
Steve Burnich had three hits for the winners.
Sluggers 14, Roth Bros. 10: A seven-run seventh inning wiped out a 10-7 Roth lead.
Shane Davis of the Roth team went 4-for-4 with two doubles and a triple.
Roth held a 13-10 lead in hits.
